Management Team - Liz Osborne
Liz manages the Queensland RISQ office and has over 20 years of investigation, security risk management and training experience in both private and public sectors.
Liz has extensive experience in conducting investigations, security risk management and training programs and facilitation throughout Australia. Liz has broad experience in the area of workplace investigations and local government involving corruption prevention, fraud awareness, local government best practice, ethics and governance. Liz also has extensive experience in the area of security risk management for jewellers block insurance and in the mining and resource sector, particularly in the area of community consultation.
Prior to joining RISQ in 2010, Liz worked for a large security risk management company, specialising in investigation, training and CCTV advisory work as well as security risk assessments for corporate organisations and insurance companies.
This involved reviewing processes within organisations, dealing with key stakeholders and providing solutions to assist organisations to operate more effectively, efficiently and ultimately reducing the risk of major incidents occurring.
Liz is a former member of the NSW Police, serving in the inner city areas of Sydney where she spent time as an investigator in the anti-theft squad and the National Crime Authority (now known as the Australian Crime Commission) investigating organised crime syndicates, specialising in surveillance and undercover work. Liz has also had experience in New York with the Drug Enforcement Agency and New York Police Department in the area of organised crime.
